@bondojoe Well initially I thought Yes, but now i'm not so sure. Do I think he deserves it, hell yes, do I think they can prove it? No, except for the one woman who has the rapey behavior sounding tape. Other than that, it's down to the shear volume of women. Some of who, are credible, and some are on a bandwagon. He has payed a lot of hush up money. If there wasn't something to hush....well lets put it this way...he is a sleeze. Did he rape women??? Probably. He should go to jail if he did, but unfortunately the women who were assaulted never went to the police. They could have done rape kits and saved them for a time when the tides turned. They didn't.

@sunshinedaydreams I agree he's a sleeze...but I don't know mif he raped women , or if it was a quid pro quo...sex for movies parts. Hollywood women have said for decades that's the way it is. If you don't want to exchange your body, stay away from weinstein. Maybe the women are a little sleezy too. Giving up sex for advancement?

He's a scapegoat. Pretty high up in the power structure. He must have really let the dropped the ball with the puppetmasters or upset someone. He's too rich to get in any serious trouble.

Worst thing that can happen is he will agree to some restrictions at a sex addict camp or some garbage that will be more like a resort than prison.

No, not unless there is valid proof and/or credible witnesses to back up the claims.

He's being used. Feminists and men hating women are making a power grab, pulling guys like Weinstein down, and they're doing it by just using their say so. Thus with no photos, no witnesses, no evidence, no nothing they can exert themselves and see men and males get weaker. Weinstein is on his knees now and will confess to almost anything.

That said he is a perv. No question. I can't even begin to understand the pervy mentality that goes on in his brain. Thus if we are to believe what's reported he got young women into his office or hotel room and urged them to watch him jerk off into plant pots! I mean, what sort of person does that?

He went into a rehab centre to get sorted for his jerk off problems. But how does that work? How can they rehabilitate someone who does that? And what if he gets his mates to sneak him in some plants pots. He could maybe phone Tarantino and ask him to smuggle him in a plant pot through the window at night when the nurses are away.

Whatever. Weinstein is a perv, sure, but I don't think he did anything criminal. Bill Clinton in contrast is accused of rape and should be banged up for years with Bill Cosby. Throw both Bills in a faecal infested cell and let them suffer for what they've done. But let's also get real and give Harvey some space.

@Crutchbender Well he did though, there is that tape of him admitting that he scared and fondled that woman's breasts. That is assault. You can tell by that tape that he is a rapey man.

@sunshinedaydreams I haven't seen or heard of any such tape. Are you sure there is a recording? If so where is it? Where did you hear it? Maybe you're mistaken.

But even if there is a tape, so what? I mean, they've got Harvey where they want him. His business is losing millions and millions and so he'll very likely confess to anything.

Regardless, is fondling a woman's bazoomers really all that bad? I'm not saying it's right, of course not, but in the real world a bit of friendly groping is hardly up there with rape.

And the thing is Hollywood is not even part of the real world. Normally we'd complain and make it clear one should keep their hands to themselves.

Thus normally in the real world that would be that. But remember, Hollywood is a weirdo place packed with even weirdo people.

Thus it's almost impossible to judge what goes on in Hollywood by normal standards, for in Hollywood drugs, sex, paedophilia and heaven knows what happens all the time.

But suddenly a fat bloke fingering a young wannabe's breasts is like the worst thing ever? Really? And why the double standard?

I mean, Roman Polanski is accused of drugging and raping a 13 year old girl but he gets support from Hollywood celebrities such as Scorcsese, etc.

I repeat, I'm not saying it's right if Weinstein groped some woman's breasts, not at all, just that what they're doing to him seems very wrong for so many reasons.

@DemandingFemale But it is kinda true though. Do we hear of poor men being gone after in this manner??? Why is that???

@sunshinedaydreams Poor men like Weinstein and Cosby, Allen, Sheen and Spacey? Who abused their power and influence for their own sexual gratification?

Poor men like Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Max Clifford (UK)

Operation Yewtree involved some of the biggest names in British TV and radio, and several high profile men were investigated, charged and jailed for historic sex offences - without tapes or rape-kit evidence.

There will always be a small minority of people who cry-wolf, and I am in no way excusing that, but the vast majority of rape and sexual assaults are not reported to police immediately, if at all, and for many reasons that aren't as clear-cut as people may think.

@bondojoe Yes, I did. Apologies.

You meant financially poor. I still don't understand what you mean by 'in this is manner' though.

Sexual assault and rape allegations cover all nations, races, ages, class divisions, sex, professions. But those at the top, that have a significant amount of power and influence over a significant amount of people - and have a far greater distance to fall from grace - are reported more often and most intensely.

In most of these high-profile cases they aren't necessarily being accused of holding down and forcefully raping their victim, instead they use coercion, bribery and abuse of authority to get their kicks - then use passive aggressive techniques to browbeat victims into silence. Then it only takes one to speak out and the rest usually start to follow.

There isn't enough space in the infinite ether of the net to report every detail of every single daily crime, so people focus on the ones with the most to lose and the most drama attached.

@DemandingFemale I didn't say"in this manner"...sunshine did...what I meant was that only rich men are being charged. Poor men [finnacially] also use extortion, and force, and coercion to bend women to their will....but their victims seem to let it go. They olnly seem to go after the rich ones..fro the publicity, or the money. Let's face it.. Christine Ford is going to be wild beyond her dreams, even though I think she is mentally disabled. The woman that have accused Clinton, and Trump...same thing. Famous, and rich...now. Where are all the charges against the guys with no money? Women don't care about justice there? And speaking of THAT.. Whoopie Goldberg had a sexual conversation with a 13 year old boy, where she offered to have sex with him . Suppose he had wanted it right then? We don't know what she might have said. There's plenty of female school teachers that have done it. What whoopie did was ilegal. Discussing a sexual rlationship with a 13 year old is illegal. More so, if you are in a position of authority. Has she been charged...or even ACCUSED of any impropriety? I'm just saying that the justice seems to be one sided, much of the time. THose women were willing to give up their bodies for a job in Hollywood. They knew what weinstein wanted. Hollywood was more important to them than their virtue. He didn't drug them, like Cosby. It was an exchange...and NOW they are complainig.

@bondojoe The vast majority of rapes and sexual assaults go unreported.

Do you ever actually look at statistics before spouting your BS? Jails are full of sexual predators. Out of every 1000 rapes only about 300 are reported to police. Out of those 300 only 1 or 2 will get felony charges and go to jail. Does that mean the other 299 are false allegations? Of course it fking doesn't.

"but their victims seem to let it go" fk off, Joe.

I'm bowing out of this conversation before you type anymore nonsense and I get myself banned.

See ya...

@DemandingFemale Sorry to say but it's you typing the nonsense.

You claim out every 1000 rapes only 300 are reported. But how do you even know they are rapes? That's begging the question, which is very very dangerous.

Next you claim out of the 300 that are reported only a couple result in charges and jail. So you jump to the conclusion that is obviously far too few. Again, how do you know this? Have you got magic mind reading powers?

Rape is one of the easiest charges to make against someone. Any women can consent then later change her mind. And to suppose that isn't a very real issue is crazy.

Women do change their mind. They regret cheating on their husband. Or their husband finds out so they claim they drank too much at the office party, didn't really mean it, therefore it was rape!

Or a man can refuse to marry someone or maybe he's infertile. The woman suddenly flips and starts saying she's been raped. Her anger is fuelled by the fact he rejects her for marriage or he can't produce babies, whatever, it's a documented fact that woman have made rape allegations because of such reasons.

Some women even have rape fantasies! They crave rape! Crazy, I know, but again it happens. Liam Allen had six rape allegations against him finally dismissed when it was discovered the texts on his accuser's phone showed she wanted to feel like she was being raped!

Samuel Armstrong was finally cleared when his accuser was exposed.

Hundreds of other men are very likely innocent but banged up and all because there is a will to see more men jailed for rape regardless. Hence the female DPP Alison Saunders who has now resigned was big on seeing more rape convictions no mater the cost. Well she got her increase in rape convictions but the cost is that hundreds of men are right now wrongly jailed.

Like you Alison Saunders jumped to the conclusion that few too are being jailed so the DPP jailed more men regardless. Gee, thanks!
